Application
1. How do I apply to CRNMPEI for registration and eligibility to take the NCLEX?
- On the website, go into the Applicant Portal and create your account.
- In the Applicant portal, select Graduate of a program leading to Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner Designation.
2. When does my application expire?
Two years from the initial application date.
3. Where can I find more information about registration requirements?
Our requirements for registration are stated directly in our provincial law. Please review the following links: The Regulated Health Professions Act and the associated Registered Nurses Regulations.
4. Why do I need a criminal record check and where can I get one?
A criminal record check with vulnerable sector is a legal requirement for nursing registration in PEI. We require that you to obtain a criminal record check with vulnerable sector from the police agency in each place you have lived in the previous two years and from your country of origin (if not Canada). Criminal record checks must have been issued within the previous month. You will upload copies of your criminal record checks into the Application portal and send the original copy of the criminal record check(s) to CRNMPEI, and if you wish to retain your originals, they can be returned to you, if requested. Be sure to indicate if you wish originals returned, when you submit the documents.
5. How long will it take for my application to be processed?
Application processing time depends on how quickly you provide CRNMPEI with your necessary documents. Once an application is complete, it will be processed within 10 business days.
